Greg Moran, B.A. Dip Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Dip CommServ, NLP Practitioner

Greg Moran In 1983 at the age of 15, while a boarder at a Sydney Catholic Boys School, Greg broke his neck and crushed his spinal cord (C 3/4) playing Rugby Union. This devastating injury started him on a path of self discovery and personal development that continues to this day.

After a six month stay in hospital, Greg moved to a rehabilitation facility where he lived for three years and learned skills to help him adjust to life as a quadriplegic.

Even then he knew that if he went home to his parents he would not learn to adjust to his new circumstances. He realized he had to become as independent as he could.

He completed Years 11 and 12 at high school and went on to University where he gained a Bachelors degree as well as writing, directing and starring in an internationally award winning short film entitled, BackTalk. He has two more feature film scripts completed and awaiting production.

As a young man he looked deeply into the universal existential issues of who we are and how we relate to the world around us and became fascinated by mythology and the work of Joseph Campbell. Through this exploration and as a result of his physical limitations (paralysed from the neck down) he learned patience, compassion, and an understanding of how we can all limit ourselves in many different ways.

In 2000, while running his parents winery, Gregs wife Lynda suggested they attend some group therapy sessions to address problems in their marriage, particularly Gregs obsession with his work.
Greg discovered that, to his absolute astonishment, he had never properly addressed many of the issues in his life and he began attending group therapy workshops for his own growth and development. They left the winery, their marriage dissolved amicably and they are still close friends. A whole new path had opened up before him.

Since then, Greg has participated in many years of group counselling training and has had extensive experience facilitating groups and individuals. He has also earned Diploma's in Community Services and Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, and is an NLP Practioner.

Some of the counselling techniques he uses include; Gestalt therapy, Psychodrama, Music therapy, Time Line Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, NLP, Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Brief Solution Focused therapy.

With a positive attitude, a good sense of humour and a knack for seeing the best in everyone and every situation, Greg assists his clients to identify, process and resolve issues that have been preventing them achieving their full potential and living happy, successful lives. He sees each of his clients as having a unique history and life path so he tailors the techniques that he uses each session to their specific needs ensuring each of his clients receives a unique therapy experience.

His other interests include film production, script writing, film direction quantum physics, and stem cell therapies. He is currently making a documentary film called The Mirror and is making progress in his physical rehabilitation. He has decided that he will be walking again by the time he is 45 years old, which is in 2013. After you have known Greg for about 5 minutes, you will know as the rest of us do, that he will indeed be walking by then!
