Debbie Stenton

Through the work of Phoenix Rising founded by her father and mother, Graeme and Gayle O’Brien, Debbie has come to the realisation, this too is her passion. She loves the connections that are created in both group work and one on one counselling. She is a very sensitive and compassionate person. Who understands that everyone has limiting beliefs about themselves and life.

Her goals are to support people to realise their full potential, to be a part of their own personal growth. That is, that they ARE truly beautiful people and even though sometimes painful events have accrued in their formative years, they themselves are not bad. That this is simply a limiting belief and if not resolved becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

She allows you to talk through your problems without judgement and guides you to extraordinary self-realisation. As she believes this is more powerful for the individual. She is there to support you in any way she can. And sometimes that is to simply sit and listen and allow you to express whatever that may be, many tissues are always at hand, if needed.

How many people out there were told that they couldn’t cry that they couldn’t show any emotion? Debbie has always told her children that it was ok to cry and express whatever needed to be said in a positive fashion. Her children have been her two greatest teachers, the biggest lesson she has gained from them is that no one is perfect, that there is always room to grow.

Debbie is very excited to bring this type of counselling to Boonah where she has lived for the last 8 years. Raymond her very supportive husband had never done any of this type of work before and when he did a 9 day workshop he went home and built her a counselling room. He was totally unaware of the amount of families and individuals out there that truly need support, love and understanding.
